It is a recognized fact that contact with dogs can be a mentally and physically healing experience, and nursing home residents welcome visits from Therapy Dogs. Members of the club proudly provide weekly scheduled evening and daytime visits to many of the area nursing homes. Club members whose dogs are well-behaved and have completed a basic obedience course are eligible to participate in the Therapy Dog visits. The club can help members' dogs become certified by Therapy Dogs, Inc., but dogs do not have to be registered with them in order to participate.
